4. murder of senators and powerful Romans;
5. civil wars that destroyed towns and farms and disrupted trade;
6. lack of food and people without jobs and homes;
7. army made up of foreigners and soldiers were poorly treated;
8. Barbarians attacked and drove Romans out.
