Walk/Bike to school Fridays

Hello Fellow HASE Walkers and Bikers,

         Hopefully, you are all ready to roll (or stroll) with the Health and Wellness Committee this Friday during our weekly Walk & Bike to School Fridays! With this being the first time, we are hosting this particular type of weekly event I would love to see lots of families come join us.

         The Health and Wellness Committee has come up with what we hope is a very user friendly website announcing our rides. Parents are able to sign-up their kids for the rides. There is a blog portion so we can cancel due to inclement weather and inform the community. The meeting place and time we leave are both listed. Parents can sign up to receive email updates for our future rides and there is a contact section as well.

3rd Grade - - End of Year Party

Hello Parents!


To celebrate the end of a great school year, Ms. Whalen and Mrs. Neuhart would like to
have an End of Year Celebration for the 3rd graders and their families. The party is set to
take place on the last day of school...


Friday, June 3 from 1:30-3:00 – Large Playground


To make the party extra special, they would like to have
some healthy treats for the kids. For example, Popsicles,
Popcorn, Fruit (Watermellon, Strawberries, etc.)




We are also celebrating Summer Birthdays!

Summer Work

As some of you have notice, there are colored papers coming home this week regarding required summer work.

Every student that is entering the fourth grade is required to read Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper... http://www.amazon.com/Out-My-Mind-Sharon-Draper/dp/1416971718 . You can either self buy this book, borrow a copy from the public library or Highline can provide a copy for you if you let us know you need it.

For math... a pink sheet is coming home today outlining that students can continue their online math lessons from www.zearn.org . If you need a paper packet instead, we are happy to provide one. Please just let know by this Friday so we can make a copy for you. Important information:

All families are welcome to come join and cheer! Please make sure your child has sunscreen on before school, water bottle, and appropriate athletic footwear. They are allowed to wear athletic bottoms and shoes all day. Homerooms will be assigned team colors for that day. Please see the list below for the color of shirt to wear based on homerooms. (The shirts can be any color hue)

Date: Thursday May 12th 

Time: K - 4 9:00 - 11:00 am 

          5 - 8 1:00 - 3:00 pm 

What to wear: Wear you grade color along with athletic bottoms and tennis shoes!!

Grade Colors:

Kinder and 5th -- pInk 

1st and 6th - blue

2nd and 7th -- Green 

3rd -- Red

4th -- Orange 

8th -- White

** They can wear any hue of that color, it can be patterned but needs to be mostly that color.
